Palm oil is a plantation commodity that can increase people's income. High
productivity of oil palm is influenced by three factors, namely the selection of
superior seeds, plant maintenance and harvest technology. Maintenance of mature
plantations is maintenance aimed at obtaining production and to increase the quality
and quantity of oil palm production. The good and bad maintenance at the time the
plants produce is reflected in the resulting production . This type of research in this
study is a survey of oil palm plantations in the district Kinali are carried out
systematically by taking data in the field that collect primary data from respondents.
The method used is direct observation and interviews. Sampling on farmers using
purpossive sampling method. To prove the research hypothesis, it was analyzed by
using multiple linear regression estimator model . The results showed that the
mature plants for a land area of one hectare the yearly on weed control maintenance
costs Rp. 297,100. maintenance of frond shoots costs Rp. 474,000. maintenance on
fertilization costs Rp. 1,771,100. and on road maintenance costs Rp. 553.350. The
total average cost of maintaining oil palm plantations is 3,095,550. Simultaneously,
the cost of maintaining oil palm in the study area has a significant effect on the
income of oil palm farming. Oil palm maintenance must be carried out as much as
possible and managed properly, because it is proven that maintenance activities on
old plants, additional costs, will not only increase income but also reduce income.
