Coffee seed is a critical point determining the continuity of the high availability of seeds among coffee business actors. Testing the potential germination of coffee seeds aims to observe the ability of essential structures in seeds that show symptoms of growing and developing under controlled conditions. The purpose of this research is to analyze the potential of seed germination of coffee when viewed from: (1) potential growth, (2) speed growth, (3) simultaneity growth, and (4) percentage of germination. This research was conducted on 20 February s/d 19 April 2018 at Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Center Jember. This research uses randomized design Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the use of Robusta coffee (PR), Excelsa (PE) and Libericaa (PL) coffee. Observations observed were potential growth (PT), speed growth (KcT), simultaneity growth (KsT), and percentage of germination (PK). The result of variance indicated that testing of coffee seed species tested to germination potential had significant effect on α level of 1%, so it is necessary to do further BNT test. Further BNT test results show that the seeds of Robusta coffee species are significantly different from the seeds of coffee species of Ekselsa and Liberika coffee seeds to the growing potential, growing speed, and the simultaneous growth. But it gives an unreal result between the seeds of coffee type Ekselsa with Liberika coffee seed. Similarly, with regard to percentage of germination, Robusta coffee seeds have a good percentage (70-100%) compared to the seeds of coffee species of Ekselsa and Liberika coffee seeds.
