ABSTRACT NURLAILA SELMITA. Perception of Farmers on Role Tani Sinar Harapan Group in Nagari Simpang Tanjung Nan IV Kecamatan Danau Kembar Solok.Guided by YELFIARITA, SP, MP and NOFRIANIL, SP, M.Si. Farmers are aware of the existence of farmer groups, but farmer groups have not been able to carry out their roles, this is because farmer groups have not been able to carry out good coffee cultivation and lack of training or assistance to farmers. The role of the farmer group on the farming activities of its members can be seen from the perceptions of farmers about the extent to which the performance of the farmer groups has been running, so that it can be an evaluation material for farmer groups in making and running the programs that have been designed. The purpose of this study: 1) to analyze the role of Sinar Harapan farmer groups in Nagari Simpang Tanjung Nan IV in Danau Kembar Subdistrict, 2) identify farmers' perceptions of the existence of Sinar Harapan farmer groups in Nagari Simpang Tanjung Nan IV in Danau Kembar Subdistrict. This study uses primary data (observations and interviews directly using prepared questionnaires) and secondary data processed in descriptive qualitative and quantitative. Based on the results and discussion of this study, then conclusions can be taken as follows. 1) The role of Sinar Harapan farmer groups has been running optimally related to organizational processes and meeting market needs. The role that has not run optimally is providing input, providing capital loans to members and extension services. 2) Based on farmers' perceptions of the role of Sinar Harapan farmer groups, 71.43% of members said that agricultural production facilities were rarely available, 66.67% said that there were no capital loans, 80.95% of respondents said that extension services were rarely done in Sinar Harapan farmer group.
