<note>FADLI ULIN NUHA, Effect of Giving Liquid Herbal Ingredients on Growth and
Profitability of Broiler Chickens. Supervised by FEDRI IBNUSINA, SP, MP and
Ir. JOHN NEFRI, M.Si.
The research of giving liquid herbal ingredients to broiler chickens aims
to see its effect on body weight gain, ration consumption and ration conversion
and to see the business analysis in each treatment. Giving chemical drugs can be
replaced with herbal ingredients so that it is expected to help to avoid chemical
residues in broiler chickens and increase body weight growth, ration consumption
and reduce feed conversion. The management aspect includes the costs used in
order to be able to consider decision making in carrying out broiler business
activities. The study was conducted in broiler cages at Payakumbuh State
Polytechnic for four weeks, using 100 broilers that were reared since DOC. The
feed given is in the form of a commercial ration with crumble or granular types.
The method of analysis was based on a completely randomized design (CRD) P0 :
Dosage of herbal ingredients 2.5 ml/liter of water P1 : dose of herbal ingredients
0.5 ml/liter of water P2 : herbal ingredients 1.5 ml/liter of water P3 : herbal
ingredients 3.5 ml/liter of water P4: herbal ingredients 4.5 ml/liter of water
through the ANOVA test using SPSS Version 24 software. Then a business
analysis is carried out. body weight gain, ration consumption and ration
conversion were not significantly different because the results of analysis of
variance yielded values (P>0.05). The treatment of giving liquid herbal
ingredients 4.5 ml/liter of water on body weight gain produced the highest results
in the treatment with a value of 1,268 grams/head and resulted in the lowest
conversion value of 0.43, and the highest ration consumption was in treatment P3
(Giving herbal ingredients 3, 5 ml/liter of water) with a value of 671.29 grams.
The results of the business analysis showed that the level of profit generated from
broiler chickens was 29%.</note>
