<note>The purpose of this research was to identify (1). To Identification
effect of the dose of rice husk charcoal as a mixture of planting media on
the growth of cocoa seedlings, (2). To identification to optimal dose of rice
husk charcoal which gives the best effect on the growth of cocoa
seedlings. This research was Payakumbuh State Agricultural Polytechnic
Experiment. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD)
with 7 levels of rice husk charcoal dosage: A0: Top Soil / Without rice
husk charcoal (Control), A1: Top soil + 10 gr rice husk charcoal / polybag,
A2: Top soil + 20 gr Rice Husk Charcoal / polybag, A3: Top soil + 30 gr
Rice Husk Charcoal / polybag, A4: Top soil + 40 gr Rice Husk Charcoal /
polybag, A5: Top soil + 50 gr Rice Husk Charcoal / polybag, A6: Top soil
+ 60 gr rice husk charcoal / polybag. Based on the research result that
giving rice husk charcoal had an effect on the number of leaves. Giving
rice husk charcoal in treatment A3: Top soil + 30 g rice husk
charcoal/polybag. Meanwhile, the parameters of seedling height, stem
diameter, wet weight of seeds and dry weight of seeds had no significant
effect.</note>
